Today, at the event organized by Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund and USAID Kosovo
Compete Activity, a new financial facility has been launched called “EXPORT WINDOW”
Through the Export Window new guarantees can be issued to our partner financial
institutions for the benefit of micro, small and medium enterprises, in particular to businesses
focused in export. In this event were present representatives of: Kosovo Government;
Central Bank of Kosovo; USAID; Embassy of Sweeden; Bank Association; Businesses for
the wood processing, food processing, and the Information and Communication Technology;
Donors; Commercial banks; Microfinance Institutions and other partners.
On this occasion, we bring to you the statements from the main speakers of this highly
important event for the economy of Kosovo.
STATEMENT by MINISTER OF MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY ENTERPRENUERSHIP AND
TRADE
“A country that aims a sustainable economic development, always invests it’s highest
capacities to support and strengthen the exports.
Export opens new opportunities for our successful businesses that are proving everyday to
be more and more successful. Thus, we want to pave a path for our country by creating new
opportunities for local businesses, by offering competitive products and services in the
international market.
Today, the whole promotion that is being made to export on this occassion of the opening of
a new opportunity by a new financial product to facilitate access in finance through the
Export Window, by KCGF and with the support of Usaid Kosovo Compete Activity, and to be
implemented through financial institutions, is an important step in influencing the
development of export as an excellent opportunity for businesses and our country.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue it’s support and will offer its
commitment for our small country to become part of the world’s big markets.”

Kosovo’s export oriented growth is catalyzing new employment opportunities through new
market penetrations with high quality products. The time is NOW for new fiancial products to
elevate the competitiveness of the economy as we transform Kosovo’s brand image!
Lending continues to be a very important and stable source of private sector financing in
Kosovo. The value of loans until October 2022 has reached 4.3 billion euros, marking an
annual increase of 17.9%. However, despite the satisfactory bank lending trend , it is
considered that the level of financial intermediation in Kosovo should increase even further,
and in relation to the size of the economy, there is yet more space for further expansion for
lending activity.
In order to fill this bank lending space, an important role is played by the Kosovo Credit
Guarantee Fund, which, through its guarantee mechanism, will enable increase in credit and
ease the conditions of access to loan even for the highly important sectors that ensure
further economic development of the country. .
Therefore, this new window will help to increase exports, contributing to the overall economic
development of the country.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo continues to support and push the financial
sector toward increasing the support for the economy, especially businesses aiming to export
our products.
